The conference taking place from 20th to 22nd September in Belgrade, which will bring together Rock Camps for Girls from across Europe, is looking for volunteers.
Rock Camps for Girls are designed to improve the gender balance in the field of rock music, by motivating girls to actively pursue their music interests. In the course of rock camps, they are taught the basics of playing instruments (guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboards), singing and songwriting.
This conference, organized by FEMIX is part of Music Empowerment Mobility Exchange (MEME) program which supports young people in creating music and making their mark on the world music scene. The Volunteers aged 18-30, who speak English, and can commit to working 6 hours per day, from 19th to 23rd September, should apply by filling out this online form. Food and transportation will be provided.
Apart from an opportunity to learn about event organization in the fields of music, culture and activism, you will also meet participants and musicians from Great Britain, Iceland, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Austria, Poland, Germany and Serbia, as well as guests from the region and the Netherlands, who wish to start rock camps in their own countries. To top it off, you get to attend a really great concert on Saturday 22nd September!
