In the last year, clients of Sberbank Serbia have collected EUR8,500 (RSD1,000,000) through donation boxes placed in all their branch offices in the country to help build a pediatric hemato-oncology department in Niš. NURDOR’s campaign I ja se borim (I am fighting too) got the support through a cooperation with the bank, which will last for another year, until the completion of the department.

President of NURDOR’s (National Association of Parents of Children Living with Cancer) Board of Directors, Joland Korora has stated that this is a positive example of corporate social responsibility, which help the whole society to thrive, make progress, and develop its philanthropic and ethical capacities. “Everyone can help, individuals, or big companies, but it is best to knit the fabric of solidarity together. No donation is too small, everybody gives as much as they can and little by little, together, we have collected a million dinars in the first year!”, she added.

The funds will be directed to the building of the hospital department in Niš, and a representative from Sberbank said that they will continue to support the project hoping that children living with cancer can get better, modern treatment facilities before the scheduled deadline, one year from now.
