SOS Children’s Village (SOS Diječije Selo) in Sarajevo recently received a donation of 4,000 BAM (about 2,000 EUR) from Bingo supermarkets. The money came just in time for the start of the new school year, in order to help with the purchase of necessary school supplies.

Bingo supermarkets partnered up with CHICovnik, a company which makes planners “designed for women”, to donate part of the profit to SOS Children’s Village. This project provides care and housing for children without parents, but unlike ordinary homes, resembles life in a family- with a parent and siblings of different ages and genders.   Bingo has been supporting the project for several years, and Tatjana Paunovski, Head of Marketing pointed out: “We value very highly the success of each child, and know that this is only possible with selfless love and a positive environment they have at SOS families. As long-term friends of SOS Children’s Villages in Bosnia and Herzegovina we are able to provide financial support to the children, which is necessary for everyday life, and additionally to raise awareness on children’s needs among our business partners and customers.” Faris Njemčević, Location Director for SOS Children’s Village Sarajevo, explained that it was the support of Bingo over the years which has allowed mother Amira to cover all living expenses, and provided 30 children and young adults with everything they need for school. As for the customers of, CHICovnik, along with a snazzy-looking planner they also have the opportunity to do good. And that’s something definitely worth penciling in!
