BELhospice organised 8th Charity Ball ˝Let’s bond for the ones in need˝ on 25th November in Hyatt Regency Hotel. EUR134,000 was the amuont raised for the work of the BELhospice center and building the first inpatient hospice in Serbia.

The ball was attended by about 350 officials, representatives of the diplomtic corps, the corporate sector and public figures who donated funds by buying tickets and participating in auctions. Guests had the opportunity to enjoy performances of the students of Academy of Arts, and BELhospice Champion Awards were granted for companies and individuals that made special contribution to BELhospice's work in the previous year.

In November 2015 BELhospice started a capital campaign to establish the first inpatient hospice in Serbia. According to available data, 33,4% die in hospitals, while for the others, there are no relevant statistics. These "hidden patients" are one of society's burning issues. Very few of them have access to specialist palliative care. In Belgrade and the rest of Serbia, there is still not one specialist inpatient hospice that provides multi-disciplinary palliative care to terminally ill cancer patients and their families.

This hospice will provide the highest level of palliative care services to cancer patients completely free of charge, as well as education for volunteers and specialists (doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists) in the field of palliative care.
