Forum for Responsible Business (Forum za odgovorno poslovanje) and SMart Kolektiv have opened a call for applications for the National Volunteering Award. Applications are open until 2nd Novemebr, and all organizations, companies and individuals which take part in volunteering activities are eligible to apply.

Volunteering is an extremely important form of giving for the greater good. By giving only a little bit of our time, each of us can make a difference in the lives of those around us. In addition to that, volunteering helps strengthen communities, develop philanthropy and solidarity in society.

This is why initatives such as the National Volunteering Award matter, as an opportunity to recognize those who have dedicated most time, and in the best way possible, to help improve the lives of people around them.

The award is given in the following categories:

  • Best volunteering activity organized by an organization, public institution or informal group for the purpose of engaging a greater number of volunteers for the improvement of the community;

  • Program of long term volunteering aimed at the volunteering organizers which continuously engage volunteers within their organizations;

  • Corporate volunteering program aimed at companies which enable their employees to contribute to a particular social cause, with the support of the company;

  • Volunteer of the year – for exceptional contribution of an individual during their volunteering work.

While other awards have been presented in the previous years, a completely new category this year is Volunteer of the year, which is especially important for promoting individual philanthropy and volunteering.

Applications are open until 2nd November, and furhter information on the application process can be found here.
