The event Croatia Volunteers took place all over this country for the 8th time in a raw. Organized by Croatian Center for the Development of Volunteering, it hosted more than 150 organizations from more than 70 cities counted 307 volunteer activities and more than 4 thousands of volunteers. This year event’s motto was We volunteer = together we’re building a better and stronger community.
During six days, from May 21 until May 26, people of all ages and professions, from all over Croatia had a chance to participate in this project and contribute to the community. Shared volunteer activities had as a goal connecting the corporations with organizations from non - profit and public sector. Working together for the community is a good reminder of the important role every member has in creation of a well - connected and humane society.
Renovation of classrooms, intergenerational board games, help in studying, drawing graffitti to decorate school yards, renovation of school yards, cooking workshops, info days about human rights and cleaning the river banks are only some of 307 activities offered and organized by more than 150 organizations and associations who offer volunteer work. All of them were dedicated to creating better conditions and promoting the importance of volunteer work.
Besides giving their “volunteering hours” to their community and environment, participants could also take part in a charity exhibition an auction in Split. All the funds raised during the auction will be directed to the association Dyxy, for the equipment for neurofeedback which helps people with dyslexia and discraphy.
