The painter sells his works to support the vulnerable in Syria and Turkey

Prominent academic painter from Sarajevo, Džeko Hodžić, launched a campaign on Facebook where he sells pieces to help victims of devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

With this humane gesture, he invited his fellow artists to join him in helping those who needed help the most.

Many of us from this area participated in symposiums in Turkey. I am asking my colleagues to join the action- wrote Dzeko.

Less than 24 hours after the announcement, he sold one of the three offered paintings (oil on canvas 100x80) from the cycle Seeds of Young Pine. The painting was sold for 2,200 KM.

Support campaign association Pomozi.ba collected more than half a million KM in 24 hours

A humanitarian organization Pomozi.ba announced that within 24 hours of launching the appeal, they secured around 500,000 KM to help victims in Syria and Turkey and that half of that sum was collected thanks to calls to the humanitarian number 17006.

The action is still ongoing, and you can support it with online donations, by calling the humanitarian number, or by making a payment to one of accounts of the association.

"Pomozi.ba" association, in addition to collecting funds, also collects donations of winter clothes, blankets, and other necessities for citizens affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

In the "Pomozi.ba" premises, at the address Dr. Fetaha Bećirbegovića 8, donations are accepted in the form of blankets, sleeping bags, winter clothes, shoes, hygiene products, diapers and other necessities for babies, Maja Arslanagić, PR of this association, said in an interview for Anatolia.

Citizens of Novi Pazar collect humanitarian aid for Turkey

Citizens of Novi Pazar also organized the collection of humanitarian assistance for the population of Turkey that was affected by the devastating earthquake.

The action, which is carried out under the auspices of the local self-government and the Red Cross, is organized in the Dom omladine from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the humanitarian organizations Otvorena ruka and Sevap are also involved.

In agreement with the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Belgrade, a list of necessary items to be collected was submitted.

The list includes caps, jackets, raincoats, boots, sweaters, trousers, gloves, scarves, hats, socks, and underwear.

The aid collection was also organized on the city promenade under the auspices of the organization Path of the Environment.

A team of miners employed at the Bulmak 2016 mine in Probishtip, in coordination with the Protection and Rescue Authority, traveled to Turkey on Tuesday to help people affected by the strong earthquake.

The Eurosig-Insig Group and Uba Bank have allocated 30,000 euros to help families damaged by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey.

Another donation comes from Vodafone Albania, which removes the roaming charges with Turkey and Syria for the period 6-13 February. It enables free calls and SMS to all customers who need to stay connected with their family and friends in the areas affected by the devastating earthquake. Meanwhile, the Vodafone Group Foundation Humanitarian Fund has made a direct donation of €50,000 to Turkey hours after the deadly earthquake, while it plans to add another €25,000 to this amount soon, raised by contributions from Vodafone employees. Even the equipment and volunteers of the Emergency Network of the Vodafone Foundation are made available if necessary.

The Albanian Red Cross has launched a fundraising campaign

The Albanian Red Cross has launched a fundraising campaign in support of the Turkish Red Crescent and the Syrian Red Crescent to help the population affected by the devastating earthquake. The Albanian Red Cross has mobilized all its human capacities in all its 39 branches throughout the country to sensitize communities to donate monetary values so that, even a little, Albania also contributes to the relief of human suffering that comes from this bloody disaster. The sums collected from this campaign will be sent to the components of the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent operating in Turkey and Syria, which are engaged in helping the affected population.

BBI Bank donated 50,000 KM to help those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria

One of the companies that showed solidarity and set aside funds to help Turkey and Syria is BBI Bank, which donated 50,000 KM.

The funds were donated through the Islamic Community in BiH, which launched an action called From Bosniaks with Love.

Our concern for the most vulnerable categories in society is a natural consequence of our activities. We hope that this donation will make the daily life of the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria a little easier, it was announced by BBI Bank.

Citizens of Kosovo collected aid to help victims of the earthquake

The first truck with aid collected by the citizens of Kosovo leaves for Turkey. Citizens of the Turkish community in Pristina, with the organization of the non-governmental association "Gerçek," have organized the collection of material and financial aid for the population of Turkey affected by the deadly earthquakes. The same action was organized by citizens of the Turkish community in Mamushë, with the organization of the non-governmental association "Kosova Turkleri - Insani Yardım Vakfı."

One of the initiators of the aid collection campaign, Buyar Morina, said that in coordination with the Embassy of Turkey in Kosovo, citizens have been suggested to bring clothes, shoes, blankets, things for children and things necessary for babies.

Vedat Muriqi, a well know Kosovar footballer and former player of the Turkish Super League at Fenerbahce, also has donated 15,000 Euro for the latest Earthquake in Turkey and Syria. 

Symbolic support also came from a Sarajevo artist Mihadat Kapetanovič, who showed through his illustrations how we in the region have once again united in solidarity to help the most vulnerable.
