Recorded donation instances
Compared to the years before the pandemic, the total amount donated as well as the number of donation instances in 2021 were at the highest level.
Support to the civil sector in Kosovo generated an amount of around 1,680,000 euros through 295 donation instances.
Donors
The highest percentage of donation instances was donated by private entities (individuals and citizens through mass-individual giving). Identifiable individuals initiated around half of all instances. Regarding the recorded sum, the corporate sector accounted for the largest share.
Causes
Donors most often supported poverty relief through the work of the civil sector. Mainly, these donations were made through fundraising campaigns for the distribution of humanitarian packages to socially vulnerable families.
Final beneficiaries
Citizens in economic need were the most actively supported type of final beneficiaries through actions of the civil sector in 2021. When compared to all other types of recipients, beneficiaries which were more often supported through the work of the civil sector were the elderly population, people with disabilities, and people with health issues.
Intended effects
Donations with short-term effects were most frequent, which is a continuation of the trend from two years ago. Most often, these donations included humanitarian packages with food, hygiene products, and clothing. On the other hand, donations with long-term effects such as equipment, services, and capital investments generated the largest share of the donated.
